The
Bandhavgarh National
Park is located in
the heart of Madhya Pradesh-
a traditional Tiger state this
is where Rudyard Kipling found
inspiration for his famous Jungle
Book.
This came into existence in
1968 when the Maharaja of Rewa
handed over the area to the
government for its formation.
The wildlife that time was under
danger of poaching once this
became a protected area the
fauna grew in the population
drastically.
When started the park had an
area of 106 square Kms which
has now spread to 448 square
Kms. The forest is generally
covered with Sal and Bamboo.When

declared as reserve under Tiger
