The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
is located in Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
It is placed between the two historic
cities, Agra and Jaipur. Covering
an area of 29 square Kms is a home
for more than 300 species of birds.
There is a man made lake inside the
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
which is haven for the birdlife.
The climate and ambience of the place
attracts the birds of all kind. It
is a home for migratory as well as
local birds. The place is famous for
its breathtaking avifauna.
The area was declared a national park
on 10 March 1982, and accepted as
a World Heritage Site in December
1985. The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
has thick forests which cover the
place.Several
bird species seen here are Cranes, Pelicans,
Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints,
Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers,
Buntings, Larks and Pipits,
