Jim
Corbett National Park is
located in Uttranchal, in the foothills
of the Himalayas. As the name suggests
the Park is named after the Late Jim
Corbett, the legendry hunter-
naturalists. Corbett national park
was established in 1936.
The covered area of this park is 1200
Square Kms. For the same reason the
park is often visited in the jeeps.
The visitors wait for hours together
to have a look at the legendry Tiger.
Project Tiger was launched in Jim
Corbett National Park in
1973 and this park was one of the
first such tiger reserves in the country.
The wildlife comprises of very common
animals besides Tigers Leopards and
crocodile.Besides
the tiger the park has 110 tree species,
50 mammals’ species, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species. The various attractions of the park are Jeep safari, Wildlife viewing and also fishing.
