Kaziranga National Park is
located on the banks of the mighty
Brahmaputra River in the far North
East of India, Assam. The nearest
approach to the Park is Bokakhat.
The Park covers an area of about 430
Square Kms and is ideally covered
with the elephant grass which makes
it possible for the one horned Rhino
to make this place his home.
The Park was declared a National Park
in the year 1940.The
main fauna of the Park comprises of
Indian Elephants, Indian Bison, Swamp
Deer or Barasingha, Hog Deer, Sloth
Bears, Tigers, Leopard Cats, Jungle
Cats, Otters, Hog Badgers, Capped Langurs,
Hoolock Gibbons, Wild Boar, Jackal,
Wild Buffalo, Pythons, Monitor Lizards,
etc.
