Every
year Bharatpur awaits the arrival of the
Siberian cranes These beautiful birds with
their distinctive red beaks and facial patches,
fly over 6400 km from their summer retreats
in Siberia.
Besides the Siberian
crane the other birds seen here are Coot
Snipes, Spanish Sparrow, Red Crested Porhard,
Rosy Pelican and Flamingo. August-November
for resident breeding birds and November-March
for migrant birds.
The wildlife comprises
of Golden Jackal, Striped Hyaena, Fishing
Cat, Jungle Cat, Nilgai, Sambar, Blackbuck
and wild Boar.
