The Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary
is located in the south district headquarters
Namchi, 26 Km due south.
The Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary
has great importance for its watershed
value. This is the only source of
perennial water in the ridge. Namchi
is entirely dependent on the piped
water originating from the Barmeli
stream within the precincts of Maenam
Wildlife Sanctuary.
Besides it caters water to all the
adjoining parts of the neighboring
parts.
The town of Ravangala is also dependent
on the Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary
for its supply of water. The time
to visit Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary
is March to May.
