Migratory
birds lay their eggs on islets in the river
and have made the Ranganathittu
Bird Sanctuary their breeding abode
amongst the breeding birds are spoonbills,
open bill storks, darters, white Ibis, little
cormorants, egret, heron, partridge, river
tern, stone plougher, snake bird, and other
exotic bird species that fly to the Ranganathittu
Bird Sanctuary in large flocks.
Boat rides are arranged for the visitors
to go around the lake and if one is lucky
the guide can actually take them to place
where the birds are easily seen in their
natural way.
