Royal Chitwan National Park is located
in the south west of Kathmandu, in
the lowland region of southern Nepal.
The word Chitwan here means in the
heart of the jungle. The area covered
by this park is 932 square Kms.
In the earlier days it was a place
for hunting for the Kings but late
on faced the problems of poaching
for the medicines.
The Park has the populations of the
endangered Royal Bengal tiger, Greater
One-horned rhinoceros,
