The Sunderban National Park is located in piyali in west Bengal. 72 Kms away from Kolkatta. It is known to be the valley of flowers untouched by human intruders, a valley so beautiful where the fairies would play.

In brief it is a feast to the eyes of the nature lover. The Sunderban National Park is known to be the home for Bengal Tigers, around 400 tigers can be found.

The other wildlife here comprises of Chital Dear and Rhesus Monkey. The valley covers an covers an area of 1330.10 square Kms. And is also noted for its conservation of the Ridley Sea Turtle.

The flora spread here is Genwa, which edge emerald islands. The crab like red flowers of the Kankara and the yellow blooms of Khalsi.

The seven colourful species of Kingfisher, white bellied Sea Eagle, Plovers, Lap-Wings, Curfews, Whimbrels, Sandpipers and occasional Pelican are also to be spotted here.
The best time to visit the Sunderban National Park is September and May. Winters make the time to see the mighty Royal Bengal Tiger sun-bathing on the river banks.

The nearest airport is Kolkatta, at 112-kms.

Rail :
Canning is nearest railhead, at a distance of 48-kms.

Road :
Sundarbans are accessible only by riverrine waterways. Motor launch facilitiy are available from Namkhana - Bhagabatpur Crocodile Project- Sagar Island -Jambudwip; from Sajnekhali - Sudhanyakhali-Buridabri- Netidhopan-Holiday Island; from Sonakhali - Gosaba; from Raidighi - Kalas.
